Ghetto cards in memorial books Beresteczko, situated in the Wolhynia district of what was once Poland (now Ukraine), was home to some 2,500 Jews, constituting roughly one-third of the population. In October 1941, the Germans established a ghetto in this area, as indicated by the barbed wire line on the map. Around September 8, 1942, nearly the entire Jewish population of Beresteczko were murdered.
